Blackshear is a town of approximately 3,300 residents in beautiful Southeast Georgia.

Blackshear has small town charm yet it is a growing community which features:

  • Refurbished  historic courthouse and fountain area
  • New two-million dollar public library (presently under construction)
  • Downtown area with many businesses / shops with a beautiful streetscape
  • New sixty room centrally located hotel (opened 2009)
  • Public schools widely recognized both state and nationally for high competence and excellence
  • New seven-million dollar elementary school  to accommodate growing student enrollments
  • Excellent Recreational department facilities and programs
  • Twenty-five established churches

  Two colleges (Waycross College and Okefenokee Technical College) and a Regional Medical Center less than a fifteen-minute drive from Blackshear. 

Pierce County offers excellent hunting and fishing opportunities. Not to mention that the beautiful Georgia Coast is only a short distance away !
